Betsy Morgan

Staff Engineer

Betsy is a staff engineer for the Colorado River Authority of Utah. Her background is at the interface of water resource management, engineering, and ecosystem management, and she is excited to apply these perspectives to help develop solutions on the Colorado River. While born in Montana, Betsy spent several years in Oregon and graduated from Oregon State University with a Bachelor of Science in Ecological Engineering. She also attended Utah State University and received a Master of Science in Civil Engineering with a minor in Climate Adaptation Science. While pursuing her master’s, Betsy led two research projects focused on water management in northern California: one on environmental water management and another on water availability for legal cannabis cultivation. Betsy also worked for the Wyoming Game and Fish Department as an Aquatic Habitat Biologist. Prior to joining the Authority, Betsy served as an engineer fothe Utah Division of Water Resources within the interstate streams section. Outside of work, Betsy likes to bake and spend time outdoors with her husband doing any combination of fly fishing, hiking, and camping.
